Renate

Labyrinthine house-party club with themed floors. Black, Green, Red rooms offer techno, house, experimental sounds. Intimate outdoor garden space.

Overview

Hidden in an old apartment building on Alt-Stralau, Wilde Renate transforms domestic architecture into hedonistic playground. The club's quirky layout spreads across multiple floors with themed rooms named by color - the Black Room for pounding techno basslines, Green Room for deeper house grooves, and the Red Room for experimental oddities and slow burners.

Torn wallpaper, improvised furniture, and deliberately ramshackle design create an atmosphere that feels like stumbling into Berlin's wildest underground house party circa 2007. The club books a solid mix of international selectors and local residents, with notable recurring parties like Pretty Ugly and Savour The Moment. Summer nights open up the courtyard area with hand-built swings and quirky decorations, plus a separate bar serving everything from chamomile tea to proper cocktails. Inside, the intimate scale and theatrical decor encourage connection between dancers rather than posing.

Note: Wilde Renate announced potential closure for end of 2025 due to rent increases and lease complications tied to the proposed A100 freeway extension.
